It went so very well on Sunday, thanks to the hard work and professionalism of yourselves and your marvellous teams. Cards and letters have been pouring in, full of lavish praise for the delicious food, for the way the staff looked after everyone, and for the stunning setting of the sunlit marquee. Guests report pausing at the top of the steps to take in the scene. Having known our house and garden for up to 40 years they could not believe how it was transformed.

As the hostess I very much appreciated the attentiveness of the staff, from those at the door to the bartenders and from the cooks to the servers. The beer proved very popular, to my joy. No damage whatsover, however trivial, was done to either house or garden: a huge achievement on your part, given the speed with which you had to work and the strenuous nature of the whole operation. A heartfelt thank you. And please would you thank everyone who came to make the day such a success, as builders, carpet-layers, cooks and servers.
