Here at Parties to Go we’re passionate about food and everything that goes with it. Whether we’re trying out a new dish or busy preparing a stunning menu for a fairytale wedding we love sharing our stories, top tips or just tell letting people know what we have been up to. So here is a little round up of what has been going on with us.

Breakfast meetings and why they rock

Lunch meetings and presentations have long been the go-to event in the corporate calendar. The idea that working through lunch helps maximise time and kill two birds with one stone is obviously appealing in the corporate world. But now breakfast meetings are becoming more popular than their lunch counterpart. And a firm favourite with many in workplaces up and down the country.

So why choose a morning meeting over any other time of the day?

There are many pros to moving your corporate get-together to first thing in the morning. Many of us feel more alert during the earlier hours. Our brains are sharper, and we are less distracted by tasks the day usually throws at us. It also means we are fresher – a new start to a new day after (hopefully) a good night’s sleep, which means the focus will be on the people you are meeting with and not elsewhere.

Breakfast meetings, by their nature, are also much more economical with their time. By taking place first thing in the morning, there is less likelihood of cancellations as things won’t have had a chance to overrun. Due to the focus and alertness of their attendees, more is achieved in a shorter amount of time. Breakfast is also definable. Most of us naturally think of it being any time before 10 am, meaning less chance for them to overrun. And, even less chance of someone having that extra glass of wine.

As we come out of COVID restrictions, breakfast meetings are also a great way to get people back together and in the workplace. Those choosing more flexible working patterns or splitting their time between the office and home may find attending a meeting first thing easier than later in the day. It gives people a chance to get the day started earlier and potentially more flexibility to work elsewhere in the afternoon or finish earlier in the day.

What food can I have at a breakfast meeting?

In contrast to carb-rich lunches with the lure of alcohol, breakfast food is more likely to increase your energy levels rather than decrease them. Nutrient-rich delights such as eggs and fruit can provide you with just what you need to endure the day, and even pastries and pancakes help replenish your glucose levels to help boost energy and alertness. Top that with delicious coffee, tea and juices, and you have a recipe for setting the day up to succeed. And as breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, even those who are not morning people are sure to be lured and revived by the promise of breakfast whilst they discuss the topics in question.

If you’re looking to provide food at a breakfast meeting, think about the logistics and where people will be eating, sitting and what they will be doing. For more informal meetings, where people may be standing, provide a more continental style breakfast offering, with fresh fruit, pastries and bacon or sausage baps (or the vegetarian equivalent). For more structured meetings with space for sitting and eating, a cooked breakfast could be just the thing. And this doesn’t necessarily mean full English. Eggs Benedict, French toast and pancakes all make great breakfast choices and can wow your team and clients alike.

Whatever your preference, Parties to Go can help make any corporate breakfast event a success. From waffles and French toast to smoked haddock or bacon hotcakes, we can help plan a menu, deliver, serve and clear away afterwards.
