Here at Parties to Go we’re passionate about food and everything that goes with it. Whether we’re trying out a new dish or busy preparing a stunning menu for a fairytale wedding we love sharing our stories, top tips or just tell letting people know what we have been up to. So here is a little round up of what has been going on with us.

September entertaining: making the most of the last days of summer

September is a month of change. The days are still warm enough for a garden party, but there’s often a definite nip in the air by the evening. Summer isn’t quite over, but autumn is certainly on its way.

That makes September a lovely time to get together with friends, family or colleagues and make the most of those final days of summer.

Whether you’re planning a garden party, wedding, birthday, anniversary or corporate event, September gives you the chance to combine the lighter flavours of summer with some of the more comforting food we start to crave as autumn approaches.

Make the most of the last of summer

If we’re lucky enough to get a warm September day, there’s no need to put the garden furniture away just yet.

A late-summer garden party is a great way to bring people together. Think pretty flowers, fairy lights, outdoor seating and a table laden with delicious food.

Canapés are perfect for serving with drinks as guests arrive, while sharing platters, fresh salads, seasonal dishes and a relaxed buffet make it easy for everyone to enjoy themselves.

And, of course, there’s no better way to keep that summer feeling going than with a refreshing glass of Pimm’s, a chilled glass of wine or a classic summer cocktail.

Bring a little autumn to the menu

September is also when we can start introducing some of those familiar autumn flavours.

Think seasonal fruit, delicious bakes, hearty sharing dishes and warming puddings alongside lighter summer favourites. Apples, seasonal produce and comforting autumn flavours can all start to make an appearance, bringing a touch of autumn to the table without feeling like summer is over.

And if the evening does turn chilly, a fire pit, blankets and some warming food can make an outdoor party feel wonderfully cosy.

Let us take care of the catering

Of course, when you’re hosting a party, the last thing you want is to spend the whole day in the kitchen.

At Parties To Go, we provide catering for all sorts of occasions, from weddings and private parties to corporate events and family celebrations. Whether you’re looking for canapés, a buffet, sharing food or a more bespoke menu, we can create something to suit your event.

And if you’re not planning a party but simply want to take the pressure off mealtimes, our Drop & Go food delivery service could be just what you need.

Food always tastes better when someone else has cooked it. We deliver freshly prepared meals straight to your door, ready to enjoy fresh or pop in the freezer for another day.

It means you can have delicious, home-cooked-style food without spending hours preparing it – leaving you more time to enjoy the people you’re with.

Keep summer going a little longer

September doesn’t have to mean the end of summer. It’s a chance to enjoy the best of both seasons – fresh summer food, early autumn flavours and plenty of opportunities to get together.

So, if the forecast is kind, make the most of those last warm evenings. And if it isn’t, bring the party indoors and make it cosy instead.

Whatever the occasion, Parties To Go can take care of the food, so you can concentrate on enjoying it.
