Cute favours for Easter weddings

Looking for cute favours for Easter weddings?

Aside from sorting out the cake, the dress, the venue, the flowers and the all-important food, there’s one thing every wedding needs: favours. And when your special day coincides with a seasonal event, we think it can be egg-stra special to lean into it. Enter our ideas for cute favours for Easter weddings.

Sugared almonds

These egg-shaped sweet treats are one of the most traditional wedding favours you can get, and apparently, there are a few reasons why these have proved popular over the years.

Firstly, the treat itself is symbolic of the nature of your happy-ever-after: slightly bitter nuts, representing challenges you’ll overcome as a couple, and a sweet, crisp coating, representing the good times and strength you’ll find in each other.

There’s also a link between the sugared almond and fertility – not least because of the round shape and the fact that almond trees bloom early in the spring. And, according to Greek myth, almond trees are linked to birth, love and hope. One famous tale tells of Phyllis, a Queen who died of a broken heart and was transformed into an almond tree.

But there’s more to the symbolism than that! Many people choose small bags of around 5 almonds to give as cute favours for Easter weddings, as each stands for health, wealth, happiness, fertility and longevity.

Top tip: If you don’t like almonds or have guests with allergies, you could swap them out for mini eggs.

Chocolate Lindt bunnies

This might be a little too close to Easter for some couples, but in our experience, Lindt chocolate is always well-received! Plus, you can choose from so many different types of chocolate these days – including a lovely strawberry-flavoured white chocolate, which looks especially pretty on tables.

The chocolatier also makes mini versions of their Lindt bunny, so you can pick a size that works with your decor and budget. Rabbits are a lovely choice as a cute favour for Easter weddings, since they’re symbolic of fertility, love and new beginnings. Plus, many people admire these gentle animals for their delicate and nurturing personalities. We’ve even seen some Alice in Wonderland-themed weddings and events over the years, where the Lindt bunnies work especially well.

Top tip: If you like the idea of bunnies but not as favours, why not use them as place names? Simply tie a name tag around each one.

Carrot cake pops

Cake pops are a huge trend for all kinds of events, and can work brilliantly for weddings – especially as they’re small and can even be made yourself:

  • Whip up your cake, bake, then cool
  • Crumble the cake and stir in frosting
  • Roll into balls and spear onto a lolly stick
  • Dip into melted chocolate or frosting
  • Top with sprinkles and leave to dry

Most people associate carrots with springtime bunnies, but the connection goes much deeper than this. Carrots are also a link to harvest and are a food that’s associated with rebirth, as they burst through the ground when they grow. And, they’re a vegetable often included on the Easter Sunday roast dinner – making them an especially cute favour for Easter weddings!

Top tip: If you’re having trouble coating your cake pops, pop them in the freezer to firm up.
