Here at Parties to Go we’re passionate about food and everything that goes with it. Whether we’re trying out a new dish or busy preparing a stunning menu for a fairytale wedding we love sharing our stories, top tips or just tell letting people know what we have been up to. So here is a little round up of what has been going on with us.

Ways to feed a crowd

At Parties To Go, we cater for all tastes, budgets and sizes, as well as every kind of occasion – with clever ways to feed a crowd. Today, we’re sharing some of our favourite pre-planned menus that are great for groups.

1. Buffet food

First on our list of ways to feed a crowd is the iconic event buffet. For forks or fingers, our buffet food options let guests pick and choose. Here are a few examples from our menu…

Platters: Filled with the finest Italian antipasto (think prosciutto, parma ham and salami), just grab a plate and load up.

Meats: Choose from options like lamb leg, salmon side or pork fillet. Our salmon is an instant crowd-pleaser, and comes served with prawns.

One-pots: Whether it’s our bean and veg goulash, hearty fish pie or creamy beef stroganoff, these are ideal for helping yourself over and over.

Puddings: Classic cheesecake, chocolate mousse and tiramisu all feature on our buffet pudding menu. The only hard part is deciding which desserts to choose!

2. Canapés

Next up on our list of ways to feed a crowd: canapés. Servers can weave through the crowds and keep the food – and drink – flowing with a plateful of tasty treats. Here are a few picks to consider.

Cakes: No, not the sweet kind! Think more of the ‘fishcake’ or ‘potato cake’ variety. Top of the list are our parsnip & chicken and salmon & dill crowd-pleasers.

Blinis: Whether it’s classic smoked salmon or classy caviar, we’ve got you covered.

Pies and tarts: We’ve got the lot – game pie; yorkshire puddings stuffed with fillet steak; mushroom tartlets; and steak and kidney pies all available for your big event.

Mighty minis: Canapes don’t have to be boring – just shrink down your favourite dishes into bite-sized portions, like steak ’n’ fries skewers, fish and chips cones or spicy sliders.

Dessert: With meringue, brownie, banoffee pie and chocolate strawberries all featuring, there’s always room for more!

3. Bowl food

We’ve got some inventive ways to feed a crowd, including our bowl food menus. Take a leaf out of world cuisine and experiment with these delicious dishes, which combine everything you love in one pot.

Here, you’ll find sumptuous options like sweet and sour curry, chickpea casserole and Mexican meatball stew – letting you cater for a whole range of tastes and flavours. And, to round it off, think exotic with coconut ice cream and tropical fruit salads, or opt for classically British lemon posset and sticky toffee pudding.

4. Afternoon tea

Last but not least, a great way to feed a crowd is the all-essential afternoon tea. Take a seat and prepare for our mouth-watering stand of treats with a fun theme, like our Harry Potter option:

  • Norwegian Ridgeback dragon egg sandwiches
  • Ingrid’s stoat ham sandwiches
  • Dobby’s Nutella sandwiches
  • Hedwig’s peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
  • Chocolate wizard wands
  • Cheesy broomsticks
  • Chocolate frogs
  • Sorcerers scones Offered with clotted cream and a selection of jams
  • Wizard hat cupcakes
  • Dumbledore’s butterbeer ice cream

For your event, think 2-3 stands per table, or set up on a trestle table to allow guests to serve themselves.
